What to consider when printing table cards?

Printing of new table cards will be necessary from time to time. Table cards get lost or ruined or you want to avoid spam orders by printing a new table card with new PINs. Waiters print table cards on their servicemanagement website (e.g. myRestaurant.addeat.net/servicemanagement).

As you have noticed this website is supported by German and English.

Restaurant configuration

To print table cards we recommend to have usual A4 foto paper with 240g/m2. Normaly you have to cut the edges of the printed table card. Have scissors betwen 25 - 30 cm ready to use.

Adeat.net provides table card as pdf-A5, pdf-half-letter, jpg 2:3 and jpg 3:4 formats. Depending on the printer and it's settings the results of the printout can vary. You probably need some test prints until you get the final settings.

Printing table cards from the personal computer

To print jpg files open the according program on your computer.

Pdf formats are printed direktly in the browser.

Printing table cards from a tablet

To print table cards from a tablet you need to install a printer specific software on the tablet. Not all printers support printing from tablet. Have a look to your printer's manual or try to get a printer that supports printing from tablet.

Printing from tablet normaly provides reduced options to configure the layout.

Printing table cards per email

Some printers support automatic prints of emails. The printer has to have it's one email adress.

  • Provide the email adress of your printer on the Website to configure your restaurant (e.g. myRestaurant.addeat.net/login) in the section Profile/Access Information/Download email.
  • Now your waiters can print table cards direktctly to the printer.
  • Tablets don't need print dirvers to print table cards any more.

What to consider if I run a tablet?

Full screen mode

If your waiters run a tablet for the service management website, the browser should show the site in full screen mode. Address bar and menu bar will be unvisible. More space will be available to show order data from your guests. Some browsers need an add-on to display websites in fullscreen mode.

  • Have a look to the add-on manager of your tablets browser and find an addon to enable your browser to show websites in full screen mode.

Engergie settings

Tablets normally turn of the display after a short time to save energy and change to sleep mode. In sleep mode the service management website can't receive orders from guests. We recommend

  • have a look to the display and power management of the tablet and set time to turn of the display on maximum.
  • If you have an Android tablet think about to install the addeat app on the tablet. The addeat app can receive orders in the sleep mode.

External speaker or additional smartphone

If your bar keeper provides all drinks for your waiters, he might not hear signal for new orders for drinks that he has to provide for the waiters. Think about to provide one of the following additional equipment:

  • An external speaker connected by cable or maybe by Bluetooth,
  • a Bluetooth headset or
  • an android smartphone running the addeat app and vibrating in the bar keepers pocket.

Avoid spam orders?

Addeat.net provides its service to your guests as a mobile website. They don't have to install any app and stay anonimous. This guarantees a great usability for your guests and perfect accaptance.

But we can't avoid completely if single guests send anonymous spam orders after leaving the restaurant to disturb your work flows.

To avoid disturbing restaurant workflows by spam orders addeat.net provides the following possibilities:

  • Every guest that didn't send any order during the last two hours is indicated in the service management apps by a little star . Waiters should prove this kind of orders per eye contact to avoid spam orders. Subsequent orders are not indicated by a star. Waiters can be quite shure: it's a serious order.
  • Your can ensure guest orders PIN printed on the table cards. In case you get a spam from any table, waiters only have to print a new table card to avoid any more spams.
  • To activate PINs on your table cards open the restaurant configuration website (e.g. myRestaurant.addeat.net/configuration) and activate the checkbox "show POS PIN" at "Navigation/Profile/Web site services".

Normaly spam orders are rare and no realy problem. We recommend first to test addeat.net without PIN to provide best comfort for your guests.
